Marguerite Porete (c. – ) was a Beguine mystic active in northern France who composed The Mirror of Simple Souls, a vernacular Christian mystical text expounding doctrines of soul annihilation in God and transcendence beyond virtues and sacraments. Her treatise, disseminated despite early warnings from church officials, was condemned as heretical for propositions implying disregard.
